PHPbb 2.0 series have been retired of business on April 16 th. After several billions posts done over several millions of forums across the WWW, this wonderful piece of software will progressively be replaced by its successor PHPBB 3.0 series. The retirement calendar is published on phpbb.com website and will begin on October 2008, this date when downloadable packages for version 2 of the software will be removed form PHPbb main website. People willing to do so will still be able to download them from sourceforge. Concerning security patches, download will be available until July 2008 The official date for total retirement of the software will be 1st of Jan 2009, but transcriptionnal soft to convert version 2 to version 3 will still undergo development after. Security patches will run until Feb 2009        |
