A Viral buzz ? Some feedback, after an important event in France. In France, from Nov 16 until Nov 23 had occured national week for Bone Marrow graft / Gift. The 'G.A.E.L.' Association has started a viral marketing promotion campaign through his website and his companion web - masters. BenBen1973 is the webmaster (among others) of the 'G.A.E.L.' associaition's website , a public trust interest to promote the quality of Life for teenagers hit by leukaemia or other blood diseases. He is also the president of this association. With this degree of personnal implication, he wanted to emphatize the French week for bone marrow gift / transplantation organized from Nov.16 2006 up to Nov. 23 2006. As the webmaster for many sites, and a regular poster on the 'webrankinfo.com' website, he has decided on Nov. 13 2006 to ask for a little help from his webmasters friends. This original post has upraised the reply from many webmasters implied in webrankinfo who, kindly and for free decided to rely the message on their frontpages.
More than a week later, benben1973 summarize this Network dynamics event:
- After that, requests from search engines such as Google, that gave some 2500 more unique visitors. - Let us not forget that benben1973 completed this internet week by a media plan with newspapers and radio interviews that gave some 3000 more direct hits in terms of direct access unique visitors. Appart a little failure in the first moments of the event (the hosting company had some little technical problems at this very moment, and with such an amount of requests... And also to the fact that all the relaying webmasters agreed to publish the communiqué containing the link on Nov 16 at 00 H 00 exactly, which means theat all incoming visitors came as a rush and not progressively.)
This proved that putting some links for this type of action on some websites whose thematic is diametraly opposed to bone marrow graft has allowed visitors to discover this action. As a resumé, this website has had some 17468 unique visitors in one week , which makes quite a lot for a website of this importance. A little regret is the lack for information relay in traditionnal media and great networks; a few articles in written press, a few TV, but nothing of real importance. Nevertheless, terrain working association did function correctly.
But this was the webmaster's part; as the president of the G.A.E.L.'s association, Benben1973 wears a big smile, with more than 400 for information demands which makes in 1 week more than three times the amount of what they receive each year.
The conclusion for this event : to be done again next year, without forgetting to continue information all along the year.
